Situated in a valley atop California’s Sierra Crest and surrounded by the National Forest, Kirkwood is Lake Tahoe’s highest-elevation resort. It’s solitary and intimate location among the Sierra’s rugged peaks, 35 miles south of South Lake Tahoe, allows groups to take over the entire resort for themselves. The resort sits near several airports ranging from drive times between 1.5 hours and 3.5 hours. Kirkwood is located 80 miles from Reno-Tahoe International Airport, 111 miles from Sacramento International Airport and 200 miles from San Francisco International Airport. 80km of groomed trails at 7,800 feet offer the most spectacular scenery and exciting terrain in the west. Located 1/4 mile east of Kirkwood on Hwy 88 (next to the Kirkwood Inn) and nestled in a beautiful Alpine Valley, our diverse terrain offers excellent skiing for all abilities.

Experience disc golf at 7,800' with our notorious DiscWood disc golf course! Praised by visitors and locals alike as one of the West Coast's most challenging courses, our 18 hole course weaves through the trees and over mountainous terrain. With a wide variety of terrain and distance challenges, this course has something for everyone. Play at DiscWood is FREE! Scorecards / maps can be picked up at the General Store, the course is located above the Timber Creek base area. This is the perfect team building activity for groups.

Caples Lake, located 4 miles east of Kirkwood, and Silver Lake, located 8 miles southwest of Kirkwood provide beach access, boat launches and picnic areas, as well as boat/kayak rentals, fishing and swimming.
The area surrounding Kirkwood offers plenty of opportunities for fishing. Excellent alpine bait fishing and fly fishing lakes and streams are just a short drive from Kirkwood. Stop by the Kirkwood General Store to pick up your bait tackle!

Located in The Lodge at Kirkwood, guests will enjoy spectacular views of Kirkwood’s famous ridgeline from Thimble Peak to Martin Point. This is fine dining in an intimate setting with a stone fireplace and antler chandeliers. At Off the Wall, you’ll find southwest and pacific rim cuisine, outstanding local wines, full service bar, and delectable desserts. The Wall Bar can be reserved for a private events.

Take a step back in time at the historic Kirkwood Inn on Highway 88, just east of Kirkwood Meadows Drive. Built in 1864 by Zachary Kirkwood, the Inn retains its original character with its rustic log cabin design. The Inn features Western cuisine for lunch and dinner daily. With 8 beers on tap and casual menu options for the entire family, The Cornice is the place to unwind after a day on the mountain. Watch the big game at the full-service bar or grab a window seat offering stunning views of the mountain. Located across from the Cornice Express Lift.
Located on the Chair 6 side of the village, the K-Bar is an outdoor umbrella bar. Guests will enjoy beer and wine selections, snacks and grab and go sandwiches. The location of the bar makes it an ideal spot to stop for a drink and take in the stunning views of Kirkwood has to offer. This is the perfect spot for a group meet n greet.
