The Riverwalk Center is located in the heart of Breckenridge on the banks of the Blue River. The interior of the building consists of graduated rises with removable chairs, enabling a wide variety of seating configurations such as banquet, reception or auditorium seating. During the summer, the Riverwalk Center is also able to provide an open air feeling by opening the clear doors in the back of the facility onto a scenic lawn area.
This restored historical home was built in 1882 for Barney Ford, an escaped slave who prospered and became a prominent entrepreneur and black civil rights leader in Colorado. Each room in the home is dedicated to a different part of Barney’s life. Tent the backyard and this is the perfect spot for a brunch, afternoon tea, cocktail hour or dinner.
The Lomax Mine was an active hydraulic placer mining operation in the 1860s located near Breckenridge’s downtown. Today, peer inside a miner’s cabin, see and feel the original hydraulic mining equipment and even learn to pan for gold. Keep what you find! Formerly a Livery Stable built in 1880, the rehabilitation consisted of taking the structure apart carefully into12 pieces, pouring a new foundation with in-floor heat, erecting structural steel and then putting the structure back together within 1” of the historic configuration. An innovative glass storefront system was also installed on the interior to exhibit all of the historic walls and allow for year round use. Now a home for printmaking and weekly workshops, this is a very unique and special place to host a cocktail hour or meeting.
